La fuente pública de Villaoril – Villaoril’s public spring
Aquí la va segunda tanda de imágenes de la Casa del Roxo en Villaoril, en concejo de Ibias, -Asturias, España-. Aunque su blasón reza el año de 1746, se sabe que la casa ya estaba en pié al menos 100 años antes. Es una casa realmente muy especial que ha venido perteneciendo a la misma familia -los Sal de Rellán- desde que se puso la primera piedra. Siempre ha estado habitada, y quizá por eso se conserva así, pero hoy luce con especial brillo por el impresionante trabajo y empeño del antepenúltimo de la estirpe, Manuel del Río (Manolo), su mujer Julia (Julita) y por el cariño tan visceral que una de sus hijas, mi buena amiga María, tiene por ese rincón de Asturias. Y no puedo dejar de mencionar a la abuela Tita, mujer de armas tomar, excepcional anfitriona y capitana de esa casa por décadas…. Sirva esta entrada como agradecimiento a su fabulosa hospitalidad y humilde homenaje a tanto buen hacer. (Si las Xanas y Cuélebres existen, seguro que viven cerca…)
Here it goes the second part of images from the Casa del Roxo in Villaoril, a remote little village in Asturias, Spain. Thought the year 1746 is written in the coat of arms, it is known that the house was already inhabited at least 100 years before. It is really a very special house that has belonged to the same lineage -the Sal de Rellán family- since the very beginning. It has always been inhabited (therefore maybe its good condition) but it looks even better now because of the hard work of the antepenultimate of this family, Manuel del Río (Manolo), his wife Julia (Julita) and because of the deep love that my good friend María, one of his daughters, has for this remote place of Asturias. I cannot forget to mention the grand-mother Tita, a brave woman, exceptional hostess and the skipper of this house for decades… This post is just my humble hommage to all of them. And thanks for your hospitality!
